Corruption exists not because people ask for bribes but because people are ready to give bribes.
Bribery, a form of pecuniary corruption, is an act implying money or gift given that alters the behavior of the recipient.Bribery is,according to the Black’s Law Dictionary, a Criminal act.
Why did this start?Or rather,when did this start?
Lets say,hypothetically,that a person in some centuries ago,required a favour from another.what would he have done?
He would have asked for the favour,promising-on his own will-to give something to the person who helps him.
So,when the next person comes asking for help,the person who gives help will automatically start expecting something.Thus,a custom originates.
The second case:Bribes are given for special treatment.When two people are given equal treatment,all is fair.However,this equal treatment is pushed offby bribing,then the special treatment is unfair.
This bribing has been in the fabric of the lives of the world for many a millennia.How can we trace back?
We could say that its to the blame of the giver for originating it so long ago,or we could blame the taker for demanding it for every single issue in today’s world.Its a circle with no end and no beginning.That is the only rational answer to this in my opinion.
